My washing machine smells bad!

Sometimes washing machines can start to smell. This is more common with newer machines. To keep bad smells at bay, run a service wash once a month.

To do this fill the machine with washing powder as normal, then select the highest temperature setting on the machine. Start it up and let the cycle run empty. This effectively washes the inside of the washer, and should shift those nasty smells. You may want to wash your towels on this programme to make use of time.

You can do this a number of times if the smell is particularly bad. Running a service wash once a month or every couple of weeks will help keep the machine clean and smelling fresh.
